Valve announced today that the company’s Steam Link PC streaming tool will be integrated directly into new Samsung televisions. Steam Link allows users to stream gameplay from a PC to other devices, allowing players access to their Steam game library without directly connecting their computer to a TV.
This inclusion seems to imply that gaming is becoming more and more of a priorty for Samsung. Last year the company announced that some smart TVs would have access to Sony’s PlayStation Now streaming library.
With this latest announcement, Samsung TV owners will be able to access both PlayStation and Steam games directly from their smart TVs without having to bother with external devices.
Integrating Steam Link directly into new Samsung TVs eliminates the need to buy the $49 adapter currently on the market, but will still require players to have access to a controller and a computer capable of running the games.
